Offshore health services

The County Governor of Rogaland has a nationwide role when it comes to matters concerning health and hygiene in petroleum operations at sea on the Norwegian continental shelf.

Supervision of health and hygiene

The County Governor of Rogaland oversees the health and hygiene provision on board all fixed and mobile installations of petroleum operations at sea. This includes health services (both curative and emergency response), food handling, provisioning and the supply of drinking water. More information and an overview of this supervisory activity can be found on the County Governor of Rogaland’s website.

Medical certificates

The County Governor of Rogaland manages the regulatory requirements concerning health requirements for people working in petroleum operations at sea, and it can also accord exemptions where these requirements are not met. On the County Governor of Rogaland’s website you will find a list of petroleum doctors who issue offshore certificates (a medical certificate for people working in petroleum operations at sea). For offshore divers, we have lists of accredited doctors and downloadable forms.
