Norwegian schools abroad
Norwegian primary and lower-secondary schools abroad can apply for accreditation under the Private Education Act. A list of addresses of accredited primary, lower-secondary and upper-secondary schools can be found on the website of the County Governor of Oslo and Akershus. There are accredited schools in Europe, Africa, Asia and South America. Responsibility for the supervision of accredited schools lies with the Directorate for Education and Training, which also pays grants to these schools.
Educational-psychological services at Norwegian schools abroad
Under the Private Education Act, pupils are entitled to special needs education and educational-psychological services. Responsibility for the running of educational-psychological services lies with the County Governor of Oslo and Akershus. Any appeals should be addressed to the Directorate for Education and Training. Pupils at schools abroad may be referred to educational-psychological services at primary, lower-secondary and upper-secondary level. Pre-school children do not have a statutory right to educational-psychological services.
More information about educational-psychological services abroad can be found on the website of the County Governor of Oslo and Akershus.
